ThruVision
Systems has been invited to participate in the INSTINCT
program. INSTINCT is a Home Office run initiative, which
aims to identify and trial innovative technologies,
solutions or ideas in the field of counter-terrorism.
Industry and academia were invited last month to submit
technologies, processes and ideas for evaluation by an
independent panel. The most promising and innovative have
been selected for a series of live trials in UK airports in
the coming weeks.
Following the live trials, there will be an INSTINCT
Technology Demonstrator 2 showcase event, which is being
held at Thales Crawley on 1 and 2 December. Ministers and
domestic and international VIPs from industry will be
invited to view the technologies at the showcase to see
whether they offer practicable solutions in
counter-terrorism. Technology Demonstrator 2 focuses
specifically on ideas that could enhance aviation security.
ThruVision’s products can be used discreetly and at
stand-off distances to screen passengers for concealments at
a variety of stages throughout the air transportation
process in real time. ThruVision Systems’ products do not
use harmful active radiation to screen passengers or reveal
high levels of intimate body details. They provide
flexibility in deployment, increasing effectiveness whilst
minimising operational costs. As such they are ideal for a
modern air transport industry that aims to maximise
passenger experience and protect passengers’ civil liberties
whilst increasing security.
